Reels, reels, reels!!

I've spent a lot of time watching movies since December, when I started having health issues. Most have been on DVD, but some have been at the theater.

Since there are so many, I don't want to do a plot synopsis along with the review. Besides, you're all perfectly capable of looking up the movie if you're interested, LOL. So I'll include a link to the movie on imdb.com, but other than that, I'm just going to rate the movie and mention things that I particularly liked or hated.

I give this movie a 3 out of 5. It wasn't bad if you watched it with the full realization of what type of movie it was meant to be, you know?

I like this one - but I like action movies that are also a bit funny - especially if it's "dry" humor. I give this one a 4 out of 5. I hope there is a sequel.

This one was okay. Yummy man candy (Paul Walker!), but my attention drifted several times. I almost didn't watch it because Chris Brown is in it, but I'm glad I did. Would you believe that I didn't recognize Hayen Christensen until halfway through the movie? LOL! This one gets a 3 out of 5.

I loved this one! Yes, it's outrageous & silly - but it was hilarious! This one gets 4.5 out of 5!

You should know that I am a big fan of Dwayne Johnson, so I'm probably going to like any movie that he's in - except maybe that football one - I didn't see that one. A bit different for him - he doesn't usually play a "bad" guy. Billy Bob Thornton plays his usual disgusting, slimy role. I give this one a 3.5 out of 5.

Another Dwayne Johnson movie - I think this one was by Disney - but I liked it. It was funny and cute - and there is one scene where Dwayne is shirtless. I give this one a 3.5 out of 5.

I'm not a Twilight fan, but I have watched all of the movies on DVD. Robert Pattinson doesn't impress me, and I hate the expressions on Kristen Stewart's face. Taylor Lautner, well, he's another story. His lines are pretty cheesy, but he's a hunka-hunka-burning love. This was my favorite Twilight movie so far (not saying a lot). It gets a 2.75 out of 5.

Ah, Jason Statham. More man candy. And yes, you get to see him shirtless. Lots of action, explosions, etc. A couple of parts moved a little slowly, but for the most part it was really good. I give it almost 4 out of 5.

I'm a sucker for vampires & werewolves, so I had to see this one. Yes, I thought it was a bit Twilight-ish (not a good thing in my book), and there were a lot of close-ups of Amanda Seyfried's lips (like Megan Fox's in Transformers - except Amanda's were matte red instead of super glossy) - but it was a decent story. I guessed identity of the wolf early on in the movie, but it still made me keep second-guessing myself. I give it a 3.5 out of 4.

Can I just say O.M.G.? This movie is freakin' hilarious!! If you're easily offended, you'll probably want to avoid this one. And it definitely isn't for the kiddies. But if you love raunchy humor, you don't want to miss it. There are also a lot of references to (and lines from) Star Wars, Aliens, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E. T., Indiana Jones, etc. This one gets a 5 out of 5!

What I did on my vacation...

Friday, March 18, 2011

Can you guess one of the things I did to occupy my time while I was unable to do all of the things I normally do? Yes!! I added to my shoe collection!! Check out these shoes!!

Love, love, love!! LOL!! Is there anything better than a ton of new shoes?? I think not.

Love these brown suede booties by Nine West. Got a great deal from 6pm.com - just $35!! I searched for months before I found the perfect pair!

Lulu made me go to Payless with her one day and I ended up buying two pairs of shoes! Love these cute little navy/white check flats. They're so soft & comfy - and they look adorable with jeans. $16!!

These grey flannel Steve Madden pumps are really sexy - but they are extremely uncomfortable and almost impossible to walk in!! Another great deal from 6pm.com - just $27!!

I bought these hot Nine West black suede/patent pumps to wear on New year's Eve. They are super sexy - and pretty comfortable for heels this high. They  looked great with my sequined dress - but they also look great with jeans! I picked these up from piperlime.com for $70 - I didn't have time to wait for a sale, LOL! But I  love them, so it's all good.

This is the second pair that I bought at Payless - they weren't on sale, but they were only $26. They're cute in the box, but even cuter on! They'll be adorable for summer - and I just bought a cute sundress at Target that matches perfectly!

I've had these red hot mamas for a few months now, but haven't had the chance to wear them. They were marked down to less than half price at White House Black Market, so I only paid $50 for them. In case you can't tell, they're red suede and they are oh-so-fine!!

It's March 17th!!

Thursday, March 17, 2011

I posted this last St. Patrick's Day saying that I would want to wear this if I was going out. I looked at it again, and I would still want to wear this, LOL!

St. Patrick's Day

Unfortunately, I don't have any of these items - and I am going out this year. I shall attempt to make do with something from my closet - and drink lots of green beer to make myself feel better! Sláinte!!

Another great deal!

Lauren Luke palette from beautyticket.com

You know Lauren Luke, right? Maybe you recognize the name panacea81 from YouTube? Well, if you didn't already know, Lauren has her own makeup palettes. I bought one when they first came out (I have the Vintage Glams). I really like it except for the eyeliner (I find it too hard to apply - it's not creamy enough). When they first came out, they were selling for $37 each - and for that price, you got two eyeshadow primers, three eyeshadows, a blush, and two lip colors. Great deal, huh?

The deal just got better!! Beautyticket.com has the palettes as their "steal of the week" and they're priced at $17.50 - and you also get a free "My Glossy Lips" gloss!!! Shipping is a flat rate of $6.95 (so you can order other great deals, too!) - and I've ordered from them before without any problems.

Run, run, run before they're all gone!!!

Do you know someone who is planning a wedding? Publication Station has a great deal right now. For just $2.99, you receive a 1-year subscription (6 issues) to Bridal Guide! I think this would be a great gift for someone who just got engaged!

Walgreens app

Thursday, March 3, 2011

I may not always be thrilled with the service at Walgreens - and I may think that the pharmacist at my store needs a refresher course - but I have to tell you, I am totally enamored with the Walgreens app on my iPhone!

You can do several things with it, but the thing that I think is the coolest is the "refill by scan" option.

You just tap the "refill by scan" icon, and it opens up a camera/scanner with two red arrows.

You line up the barcode on the label between the two red arrows, and it immediately scans the code and takes you to the next screen. (This is why I couldn't take a photo of the barcode - so in this picture, you just see the arrows and another section of the label.)

This is the next screen you see - it shows your prescription number, the address of your store, and the date & time. If everything is correct, you tap the "submit" button and your prescription refill request is sent to the store. If something is not correct, you just tap the "cancel" button and start over.

Cool huh? So much better than using their automated phone system that has you typing in a ton of numbers and responses!
