Today's flashback is to 1988 - the year I got married. Do you remember what you did in 1988?

Big hair was starting to deflate a little, and punkier cuts were in style. I wore my hair short & spiky - and loved it!

THE MUSIC!!! What was your favorite song? If I was only allowed to listen to music from 1988, I would be okay with that, LOL!
  • Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leppard
  • Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns-n-Roses
  • Wild, Wild West - Escape Club (this is one of my ringtones now, LOL!)
  • Nothin' But A Good Time - Poison
  • Bad Medicine - Bon Jovi
  • Wild Thing - Tone Loc
  • Faith - George Michael
  • Wishing Well - Terence Trent d'Arby
  • Simply Irresistible - Robert Palmer
  • Red, Red Wine - UB40
  • Tell It To My Heart - Taylor Dayne

Did you have a favorite TV series? I loved "Growing Pains" & "LA Law". I always thought it was funny to watch Laurie Partridge as a lawyer, LOL! Remember when they brought back Mission: Impossible? I always thought Thaao Penghlis was soooo handsome - loved him as Tony DiMera on Days of Our Lives, too! Some other shows:
  • Cheers
  • Who's The Boss
  • The Wonder Years
  • Alf
  • The Golden Girls

Do you cringe when you think about what you wore in 1988? I had acid-washed jeans, hot pink Converse high-tops (I still have them!), aviator sunglasses, and a Swatch watch with bands in several different colors. Even though tattoos & piercings were starting to become more "mainstream", I didn't sport anything other than a single piercing in each ear in 1988. The tats & piercings came much later, LOL! Other trends:
  • fingerless gloves
  • leather jackets à la Michael Jackson in the "Bad" video
  • aviator jackets
  • Hawaiian shirts (for guys)
1988

What are your favorite movies from 1988? I still love to watch Big & Die Hard! Other movies that year:
  • Beetlejuice
  • Rainman
  • Twins
  • Cocktail
  • Bull Durham
  • The Dead Pool
  • Hairspray
  • Young Guns
Share your memories of 1988!

What's really scary is that many of those styles can be found in the stores again today! Ahhhh!

I was young, but I remember the 80s well. The neon (although we referred to it as "fluorescent" - much cooler), the t-shirt clips, banana hairclips, acid washed jeans, jelly shoes, my my my...

I know! If I had saved more than my pink Converse high-tops, my dd could have an entire wardrobe of 'trendy' clothes, LOL!
