Are words really necessary?? I hope not, because I'm speechless. I know they're not really shoes, but even as "art" - WTF?? C'mon Truebies - tell me I wasn't the only one to wonder if Maryann wore these with the big bull head...

Brilliant or crazy?

I can't decide if these mugs are a brilliant invention or the goofiest things I've ever seen, LOL! Obviously a great gift for the person who has everything - and loves to drink coffee/tea/cocoa!

This is a Lap Mug from Uncommon Goods. Apparently perfect for balancing on your lap/between your legs. But I have to ask...what if you have to jump up to answer the door or phone? Where do you set the mug? LOL! Interesting concept - a conversation-starter, for sure - but definitely something I would only find useful on vacation; when I can actually sit and drink an entire beverage without interruption. :-)

And here's the Knee Mug for those who prefer to rest their drink on their knee/leg. This one appears to be a little more practical - it looks as though you might be able to set this one down without it tipping over.

The only person I've ever known who rested his coffee mug on his lap/knee was my Papa (my grandpa). If he was at home, he had a mug of coffee. Never a cup - always a mug. Sometimes, you'd see him out on the riding mower in the blazing sun - with a mug of coffee resting on his leg. Every time Gus & I would go on vacation, we'd bring Papa a new souvenir mug. A few of those precious mugs now call my kitchen cabinet home - and I smile a bittersweet smile when I see them. Papa truly would have appreciated the technology in the knee mug. And he would have made up a silly story about it. He made up silly songs & stories about everything. :-)

Wednesday's WTF??

Wednesday's WTF?? 3/3/10

Anyone who knows me knows this: I. LOVE. SHOES. 

But even I can't find anything to love about these...WTF are they? Sneakers? Wedges? Heels?

And then that begs the question - WTF would you pair these with? A nylon windsuit? A velour jogging suit that proclaims your butt is "Juicy"? Satin boxing trunks?

I realize that I don't live in a fashion mecca, but seriously? I can't even imagine. And check out the price tag - $500 on sale. These babies are available from zappos.com. Just in case you wanted to get a pair.

Wednesday's WTF?? 2/24/10

Every once in awhile you come across someone or something that just makes you say/think "WTF?" - so I thought I'd start a "Wednesday's WTF?" post.

The other day, I saw these leggings that someone obviously time-warped from the 80's or looted from Cindy Lauper's closet. Someone would seriously pay money for these & wear them? Sure, I did the short skirt with patterned black stockings & pumps thing in the 80's. Okay, maybe I even occasionally paired that with some lacy anklet socks. (Right now, my husband is remembering when I used to dress like that. He liked that look. He'll want to talk about it later.) But if my stockings looked like this I would've pitched them:
