Grease is the word!!!!!!!

O. M. G. Was there anything hotter than "Grease" in 1978??? I don't think so!! Every girl wanted to be Sandy (well, once she was wearing leather, anyway - LOL) and every guy wanted to be cool like Danny. I think I've seen the movie at least 20 times. Even my kids love it. It's just one of those movies that transcends the generation gap - everyone loves it.

I'm sure every girl in high school got a pair of Candies after watching Grease. Mine were exactly like the ones in the picture above. I think that's when my love for high heels started. Back then, I tottered all over the place - I'm sure it was quite amusing, LOL.

And how cute was John Travolta? If you didn't already love him in Welcome Back, Kotter and Saturday Night Fever (which I wasn't allowed to see because it was inappropriate, LOL) - you certainly loved him after Grease. And we knew from Saturday Night Fever that he could dance - but guess what? We found out he could sing, too!

The soundtrack was incredible - yes, I have it on my iPod. And I know the words to every song. Don't laugh - admit it - you do, too! I think every karaoke bar plays "Summer Nights" & "You're the One That I Want", don't they?

So...
my favorite characters: Leather-clad Sandy, Danny
my favorite scene: the final scene, of course
my favorite song: You're the One That I Want

I know, I know - I'm so predictable. But remember, I was only 16 when I saw Grease for the first time - so I was very impressionable!

"We go together like ramma lamma lamma ka dinga da dinga dong
Remembered forever as shoo-bop sha whada whadda yippidy boom da boom
Chang chang changity chang shoo bop that's the way it should be
Waooo Yea..."

What are your favorites??

Grease was just on TV the other night. I was watching it and Ben made me change the channel. Boooo! I actually saw Grease 2 before I saw the original. My cousin had the movie and we watched it every single time I went to her house (which was like every other weekend). Then one day she told me she had Grease also! Then we watched both every time, LOL.

LOL! Gus loves it! I think, like you, he saw Grease 2 first - and he likes that one. I never did see the charm in Grease 2 - I think it just never measured up to the original for me.
