You may remember awhile back I mentioned ordering a Korres Guava Lipstick from Sephora. Pretty, pretty, pretty! Such a smooth, creamy consistency - and the Natural Pink 13 is a lovely color.
Pretty on your lips, that is. Not so pretty when it's all over your laundry because you forgot to check your pockets and you washed and dried it with a full load of clothes.
Yeah.
I only used it a couple of times. Why is it always the new $22 lipstick that gets ruined? It's never the old or cheapie lipsticks. Sigh.
Just in case you ever need to know how to remove lipstick stains that have been dried into the fabric...first, place a paper towel under and over the stain, and use a warm steam iron to steam/melt any excess lipstick. Then make a paste of powdered Cascade, water, and Dawn dishwashing liquid and use a toothbrush to scrub the lipstick stains. Leave the mix on the clothing. Next, add a cup of powdered Cascade to the normal amount of laundry detergent, and wash the clothes in warm water. Check the clothing for stains before drying - retreat if necessary - do not dry if stains are present. One treatment removed the stains from all of my clothing except for one shirt, which I will retreat tomorrow.
One humorous moment - the lipstick stained Gus's shirt collar - so I told him he had lipstick on his collar. He just said "at least it's yours". :-)
