My weekend...

Things that happened, things I learned, and things I feel must be made known - because someone isn't getting the memos...

Gus and I went to our favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch on Friday. At the end of the meal, they brought our fortune cookies as usual. But Gus's cookie didn't have a fortune. Definitely one of those "hmmmmm" moments. What is the universe trying to tell him?? Don't bother? You're so lucky you don't need no stinkin' fortune? Yeah, let's go with that one...

Fact 1: If your cat is going to yurp - it will be on the carpet.
Fact 2: Aforementioned yurp will be in one of two places: the spot that is most difficult to clean or the place you'll step before realizing you shouldn't step there. Maybe both.

Yes, people, you really do need to mow that little strip of grass in front of your house. You know, the one between the sidewalk and the street. I shouldn't have to don safari gear to take a walk through the neighborhood. Thank goodness everyone on my street got the memo. Let's get the word out to the rest of the folks.

Please note: Flip-flops, no matter how shiny and gem-encrusted, are never appropriate footwear for a formal wedding in a Catholic church.

Related to above note: If you're the mother of the groom, you really shouldn't buy a neon green dress from a prom shop to wear to the wedding. Even if it does match your neon green Camaro.
On a nicer note, apparently it's a Japanese custom to bring gifts to your neighbors when you move into a new neighborhood. Our new neighbors gave us a box of Yoku Moku Cigare Rolled Butter Cookies. One word - YUM. If you haven't tried these, you don't know what you're missing!!

And how was your weekend?
